Description:

Construct a an urban farm/community garden on a 2.3 acre property (250'x400'), the former site of the Memphis School.  The site will be fenced-in with a black 6'-tall aluminum picket fence that willl border the site on three sides (Memphis, W. 41st & Henritze).  The site will support two greenhouse structures (20'x72'x10'), one poultry building (24'x26'x12') and a utility/mechanical building (16'x32'x17'-6") that will be a permanent structure resembling a barn with a covered porch.  A community garden will be constructed on the south side of the property w/community entry from Henritze Ave.  This feature will consist of 24 raised beds for garden plots, running water and a gathering area.

1. The barn structure be designed to convey a more urban appearance and utilize a more subdued red exterior color.

2. The location of the ornamental fence be adjusted at the Memphis Ave.-West 41st St. and Henritze Ave.-West 41st St. corners to provide for more public gathering space.

3. The utilization of bike racks be considered to further enhance the project's sustainable nature.
